Hillary was born and raised in a suburb outside of Houston, called Katy, Texas. For the first 18 years of her life, she lived and breathed Texas air. She always loved the Lone Star State, but felt she needed to see what life was like outside her hometown. Hillary enrolled at Indiana University in August 2010 and lived the next 4 years of her life in Bloomington, Indiana studying broadcast journalism and music.

During her time at IU , she kept herself very busy. Hillary reported with IU’s student run TV station, Indiana University Student Television, as well as Bloomington’s PBC affiliate WTIU as a reporter.

Her drive for broadcast journalism and storytelling started before college though. Her next stop was an internship at KPRC Local 2 News (NBC Affiliate) in Houston, Texas. Then the summer going into her senior year of college, Hillary landed an internship at KNBC 4 News in Los Angeles, California. In LA, Hillary helped report on a wide range of stories such as the LA protests after the George Zimmerman case, the Michael Jackson trial, and Mayor Eric Garcetti’s first day in office.

Hillary feels very fortunate that she is living her dream as a journalist. The best part of her job, she feels, is meeting people from all over the community and hearing their story. She has the ability to talk to anyone and make them feel comfortable, especially under stressful and breaking news situations. That’s how she is able to grow relationships with her contacts, because she has the natural ability to connect with someone.

Hillary is excited to see where this career takes her in life and is not afraid of a challenge.
